[ See, the problem here is that Fabian was still fully in the mindset of fighting Gorgug. Even with the other in this state, it's hard to not think about the way that it's still packaged as his friend. Gorgug may be partially losing his mind here, but Fabian has still got all of his own, and he'd never want to injure his friend in any way that would seriously hurt for longer than maybe all of two minutes.
But Gorgug clearly has no such thing holding him back any more in this moment. It's different from how they usually spar - because even when Gorgug goes into a rage then, it's different, always more calculated. Still a bitch to fight when you know that you're going to lose every single strength competition, but it's something Fabian can handle.
He isn't sure what to do here. He isn't sure what he can do here, because before he can even think of his next move when he sees Gorgug react to the knee, he's already being dragged up and slammed down like it's nothing, the back of his head hitting the ground hard. Hard enough that his vision blacks out for a split second, hard enough that his mind suddenly feels woozy, dizzy. As Gorgug wretches the sword out of Fabian's hand - not too easily, since Fabian is still holding onto it, but the dizziness does help in letting Gorgug peel it away from there - Fabian hardly even registers it. For a moment he's sixteen again, his head slamming into the concrete floor of a jail cell, his father yelling at him. Some instinct screams at him the same way as it did back then, telling him to fight, to not take it, that he can't just take it.
But this isn't his father hovering over him. It's his friend, and Fabian remembers that he has a word to stop this - would it work though, with Gorgug in this state, when Fabian has never in his life seen him like this - and he even remembers what the word is, but he can't use it. Maybe he should, since he knows deep down that Gorgug would surely not want this to go this far either, but he-- he can't. He won't. He's still a Seacaster, and they don't just give up. They don't take the way of a coward.
Even as all of Fabian's options are rapidly taken away from him. There's nowhere to go with Gorgug pinning his legs, with the other's body caging him in. All he can do is use the limbs he does still have.
So when his eyepatch is taken away from him, leaving one silver eye and a hollow socket crossed by the large scar on Fabian's face staring up at Gorgug, he doesn't just take it. Gorgug may have his legs this time, but Fabian's arms are still his own, and he uses them to make a grab at the eyepatch to try and get it back, even lifting his upper body up a little to help the effort. ]
Dude! [ He says, almost instinctively. ] Give that back! You know that is my papa's!
[ And while he knows Gorgug usually would never do anything to something that important to him, Fabian may be a little bit worried about that being different when Gorgug isn't in his full mind. And he'll be damned if he loses one of the few things he has left to remind him of the man over this. ]
