name: Fabian Aramais Seacaster
canon: Dimension 20: Fantasy High
age: 18 (at his canon point), 20 in game by now!
canon point: The third season (Junior Year), after episode 13
history: here!

abilities: The world Fabian comes from is based on the Dungeons & Dragons system. Fabian is a multiclass fighter/bard, which means he's both capable of swordfighting and dancing! Considering he's going to school for both, he's pretty good at them, enough so that his dance has magical properties, like being able to inspire other people to do better in fights. He's also capable of casting a few spells as part of being a bard, like being able to touch people to enhance one specific ability of theirs at a time, and creating fireworks or smoke out of nowhere. For a specific list of Fabian's abilities, you can check his spell and feats list here!

Aside from that, he's also canonically good at sports. He plays bloodrush, which is a fantasy sport that seems to be most like American football in nature, but there's also some other sports thrown in? Let's just call it fantasy American football for consistency's sake. Fabian is basically a swordfighting and dancing jock. Who also happens to have the random skills of glass blowing and calligraphy.

personality: Pretty much all of Fabian's personality can be summed up in one sentence: he's definitely his father's son, but also definitely not his father's son.

You see, Fabian's father is a legendary pirate. Just that statement alone makes it very easy to imagine how Fabian was raised. He was raised to be confident, to always believe he's right and that he's better than other people. It shows in the way Fabian has an incredibly pompous outer attitude. He always does his best to seem confident in any situation, which in turn leads to him sometimes making the absolutely dumbest decisions just in order to seem cool or just not weak. Leading a group of his father's followers into a battle they were clearly going to lose was a terrible dumb decision, but Fabian did it anyway because he couldn't back down after making the choice. So at least it does mean he's very brave.. but a brave dumbass, basically.

Fabian is softer than his father though. He's a loyal friend, especially to his little bad kids friend group, always leaping into the fray to protect them - whether it's in battle or just with words. Fabian isn't someone to be intentionally mean to someone who doesn't deserve it. If he comes across as mean, it's often more because he's oblivious of how he comes across, partially due to his upbringing. Considering he was raised off his father's fortune and never really had friends, Fabian can be oblivious to his own rich privilege or to the effect of his words on other people. Or even oblivious to other people's intentions, sometimes taking a clear insult as if it were a compliment.

He's also much more emotional than his outward attitude would indicate, considering he's the quickest out of all of his friends to cry at anything. At big emotional things, sure, but also just because he's scared in a particularly overwhelming situation or just because his friend slapped him with a towel. He's not nearly as confident as he portrays himself to be, often second guessing himself on the inside, even if he refuses to show it on the outside. Being raised by Bill Seacaster means not being allowed to show weakness, after all - something Fabian struggles with even now.

But if there's anything Fabian's upbringing gave him, it's the intense desire to be liked. To prove himself. He has his father's huge legacy to live up to, for one, and then there's the fact that his parents were and even now still often are absent in his life, with his father often adventuring (though now in hell, rather than in the world of the living) and his mother being either too drunk to be present or just casually taking a year long vacation and leaving her kid at home alone. And Fabian does not do well with being left alone. The moment he is, he starts a huge campaign to make himself the most popular kid at school - which works, since he puts so much effort into it since he's desperate, but which still leaves him alone in his huge house at the end of the day.

So Fabian is his father's son: overly cocky and confident, loud and present, and determined to be the greatest he can be. But he also isn't his father's son, because his meanness is often unintentional, and deep down he's just an extremely emotional kid who is constantly driven by an intense desire to be liked.
